kilim weaving is a handmade art of the people of West Azerbaijan province. The carpet and kilim of this province have special advantages due to its fixed design and color.
The existence of different ethnicities has made the woven kilims of this province special, so that the texture of kilim in each tribe is different from the other. The most prominent texture of this province is the Kilim Afshar kilim Afshar, which is known worldwide for its use of natural and silk colors.
Khu and Takab city designs are known as “fish kebabs”. In parts of the province, the kilim Sumak is also woven.
Sumak (kilim one-sided) are kilims that are woven in a puddle style and have more complex designs than other kilims, and may be braided (ie, without a map and completely subjective) or a map.
