Lack of coriander conversion and processing industries is one of Nahavand’s problems

The director of Jihad-e-Agriculture of Nahavand city, stating that the coriander product is exported raw from this city, said: the lack of coriander conversion and processing industries is one of the problems of Nahavand city.

Ahmad Bagheri stated: 5,500 hectares of lands in Nahavand city are under coriander cultivation, from which 11,000 tons of coriander have been produced.

He specified: this city with an average production of 2 tons per hectare of this product is the first in the province.

He continued: Medicinal, cosmetic and health uses are among the uses of coriander that most of the products of Nahavand city are exported raw from the province.

Director of Nahavand Jihad-e-Agriculture, stating that the development of medicinal plants is one of the priorities of Nahavand, said: 45 hectares of medicinal plants including artichoke, marigold, dahlia, garlic, saffron, borage and chicory are grown in Nahavand.

Bagheri considered the cultivation of medicinal plants as one of the suitable crops with water shortage conditions in Nahavand city and specified: توجه Considering that medicinal plants are water-deficient plants and expect little fertilizer, Nahavand Agricultural Jihad seeks to develop the cultivation of these plants and promotes this work. In recent months, 150 farmers have been interviewed about the cultivation of these crops.

He pointed out that the cultivation of medicinal plants is a priority in the cultivation of agricultural products, he noted: Jihad-e-Agriculture experts in the city have taken measures to prepare seeds and identify shopping centers, including factories for processing medicinal plants so that farmers do not face problems in selling their products.

The director of Jihad-e-Keshavarzi of Nahavand city stated: One of the advantages of cultivating medicinal plants is selling the product at a high price and creating high employment, because some products are labor-intensive and create employment in the city.

Referring to sunflower cultivation in this city, Bagheri reminded: 500 hectares of lands in Nahavand city are under sunflower cultivation and a thousand tons of crops have been produced.
