Pistachio production will increase to 250000 tons this year

Ghaibi pointed to 50 varieties of pistachios produced in the country and said: Commercial pistachio cultivars in the country are mainly Ouhadi, Akbari, Ahmad Aghaei and Hazelnut, which are in good demand in the field of trade.
The Director General of the Pistachio Affairs Office of the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture pointed to the export situation of this product and said: the amount of exports in 1383 was 129 thousand tons worth 523 million dollars and in 1384 140 thousand tons worth 823 million dollars and is expected in In 1385, the export of this product will increase to about 150 thousand tons, which shows the need to pay attention to the economy and improve the quality of this product.
He added: In addition to Kerman, Yazd, Khorasan, Semnan, Qom, Qazvin and Central Sistan and Baluchestan provinces in Tehran province, this product has also been developed and other provinces are considering the possibility of developing this product.
Emphasizing the value and status of pistachio products, Ghaibi added: This product accounts for nearly 60% of the value of exports of horticultural products, 50% of the value of exports of agricultural products and more than 10% of non-oil exports of the country. Production to trade, public and private sectors should pay special attention to this product.
