Production of handmade carpets is flourishing in Kermanshah

The Deputy Minister of Commerce of Kermanshah Province Industry, Mining and Trade Organization announced the construction of a wool dyeing unit in Kermanshah in the near future.

Hashem Pirayandeh, referring to the measures taken by the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization to strengthen the production of handmade carpets in the province, said: One of our most important programs is to pay facilities to carpet weavers and provide raw materials for them.

He continued: To provide facilities with the Imam Reza (AS) Mehr Fund, we signed memorandums of understanding both in the country and in the province, and we entered into negotiations with Basij-e-Sazandegi so that the capacity of these departments can be used to support carpet weavers.

The Deputy Minister of Commerce of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of the province mentioned the holding of training courses for carpet weavers as another action taken for the province’s carpet field and added: In this regard, the training of rural carpet weavers began in early January.

According to the official, 19 training courses were held during this period and more than 760 people used these courses.

He emphasized: this program continues at the village level and we have a plan to start education at the city level in the future.

Pirayandeh also announced the establishment of two wool processing units in the province, which have started their work to some extent and are washing wool and turning it into yarn.

The Deputy Minister of Commerce of Kermanshah Province Industry, Mining and Trade Organization stated: A wool dyeing unit will be built in the province in the near future.

He also mentioned the creation of a hand-woven carpet washing unit as other work in progress.

Referring to the cooperation with the customs, Pirayandeh noted: According to this, the possibility of exporting carpets from Kermanshah customs has been provided and other producers and exporters do not need to go to other cities to export carpets.
